A low growing grass ideal for planting between pavers or as a lawn alternative, As the name suggests, Mini Mondo Grass is a dwarf or mini form of Mondo grass, with an overall height of 10 to 15 cm tall. It is an evergreen plant that spreads by underground rhizomes. It is a very tough plant that has a high drought and cold tolerance. Mini Mondo Grass is the perfect plant for placing between paving and stepping stones as the low height won’t become a trip hazard.
Mini Mondo Grass, Ophiopogon Japonicus `Nana`, is not a true grass but comes from the Asparagus family, Asparagaceae. It can grow in full sun to heavy shade. It grows best in fertile soil and doesn’t mind free-draining clay soils. While it is slow to establish, once it gets going, it will cover a wide area.
